Professional Development Program
Many individuals begin their career at Landmark in our Professional Development Program (PDP). Participation in the program is designed to provide experience and exposure to our full spectrum of business segments which includes project management, construction management, engineering and design, site development, structural/architectural concrete construction, heavy steel plate fabrication and erection, piping fabrication and installation, and specialty coatings applications. In the PDP, participants develop technical skills, operational insights and management competencies that provide the foundation to advance their careers into progressively higher levels of management, accountability, contribution and value.
Each participant is partnered with a sponsor who guides the individual through the development program. Participants will also engage with other key business segment leaders to enhance their experience and better round out their education while in the program. Landmark is committed to the development of a successful, progressive and interesting long term career with the participant, supported by ongoing training and education. Upon completion of the PDP, employees may choose to take assignments in many business segments based upon their skills and assignment availability.
As engineering trainees progress through assignments, they will develop capabilities in heavy construction operations (civil, structural concrete, steel, and coatings), manufacturing & fabrication, construction & project management, engineering, estimating and environmental health & safety. Upon completion of the Engineering Training Program, employees will join the design engineering group, where the focus will include the development of technical expertise in varied and specialized areas of structural and mechanical behavior, analysis and design. There is also a focus on the development of related management and business competencies.
The ability to travel during the PDP is a key component to the success of the program and may provide opportunities for accelerated advancement. All travel expenses, including hotel, airfare, per diem, etc., are paid by Landmark.
