“Landmark was always on-schedule and delivered major construction milestone on-time.” - Steve Tanneetta, B&K Construction Company

Hurricane Katrina created power failures, which led to transient pressure waves that burst pipes and caused system failures. Landmark designed and constructed two CET style surge tanks to protect the water system from the damaging effects of water hammer events.

The construction site was small and constrained, Landmark engineered controls and made modifications to the foundation design to accommodate the smaller footprint.

Highlights:

  • The USA Natural Historical Preservation Act required architectural enhancements to match the historical neighborhood.
    • Landmark designed and fabricated a special roof and decorative steel components to meet the project requirements.
  • Manufactured with 277 tons of steel per tank (554 tons).
